Qualities Your Lawyer Should Have

What makes a lawyer just right for you?

In a word: Intuition.

Of course that's when your lawyer has the right skills. Add intuitive navigation to experience and smarts, and you have a good combo.

Lots of lawyers are marketing "free reports" on what makes for a good lawyer. Here's one example of an attorney's take on the opposite side of that -- the bad qualities that should make you run (or switch):

Unfortunately, many times clients find their lawyer:

  • never returns phone calls;
  • doesn’t get anything done on time;
  • doesn’t listen to what the client wants;
  • ruins business relationships;
  • sends surprise (usually large) bills; and
  • doesn’t have a clue about the real world of business!
Yes, we know, this is preaching to "the choir." A good lawyer should: return phone calls, operate on time, listen to the client, respect relationships, justify their invoices, understand business.

But hey, that's just the baseline!
