In a word: Intuition.
Of course that's when your lawyer has the right skills. Add intuitive navigation to experience and smarts, and you have a good combo.
Lots of lawyers are marketing "free reports" on what makes for a good lawyer. Here's one example of an attorney's take on the opposite side of that -- the bad qualities that should make you run (or switch):
Unfortunately, many times clients find their lawyer:
- never returns phone calls;
- doesn’t get anything done on time;
- doesn’t listen to what the client wants;
- ruins business relationships;
- sends surprise (usually large) bills; and
- doesn’t have a clue about the real world of business!
But hey, that's just the baseline!
